White Salmon Declares Emergency Ban of Fireworks

Due to high temperatures and dangerous wind conditions, the Mayor has issued an order under WSMC 08.20.017 imposing an emergency ban on the use of fireworks within White Salmon city limits for Thursday, July 4, 2024.

Current conditions present a serious fire threat. The city urges everyone to avoid activities that could cause sparks or flames, including:

• Disposing of cigarette butts out of windows
• Watching for sparks from lawnmowers
• Checking safety tow chains on trailers
• Avoiding parking on grassy areas, as catalytic converters can ignite fires
