Public Hearing

A public hearing, with a virtual/telephonic attendance option, will be held during the Planning Commission meeting on Wednesday, August 28, at 5:30 PM or as soon thereafter as possible. Any individual who wishes to testify in person or via teleconference will be allowed to do so. The hearing will be in the City Council Chambers, 119 NE Church.

Viewshed Overlay Ordinance - Public Hearing Continuation 

City administration had a productive meeting on August 22 with the residents most affected by the proposed overlay. Based on their feedback, staff plan to incorporate some changes into the draft previously presented. After discussing this with Dr. Michael Mehaffy, we anticipate the following steps for timing and public engagement:

• Wednesday, 8/28: The public hearing will remain open to accept new comments. Staff will provide a brief update, noting that we are working on revisions to the original draft, which will be presented at the next meeting.
• Wednesday, 9/4: The updated draft ordinance will be available and distributed for review ahead of the meeting on 9/11.
• Wednesday, 9/11: Staff will present the changes in the updated draft. The public hearing will continue and is expected to close at this meeting. Commissioners will deliberate and may make a recommendation or choose to continue the discussion to their next meeting.
