Tree Board

The Tree Board is dedicated to the health and beauty of our community’s green spaces. It develops and implements a thoughtful plan for the care, preservation, planting, pruning, and responsible management of trees and shrubs in parks, along city streets, and in other public areas. The board also ensures the proper enforcement of the City Tree Ordinance, helping to maintain a vibrant and sustainable urban canopy. (White Salmon Municipal Code 18.35).

The Tree Board partnered with Peninsula Urban Forestry to develop comprehensive management plans for the city's parks and the street trees along Jewett Blvd. Given its unique forested environment, Gaddis Park received a separate, specialized management plan. You can find these documents available below.

Arbor Day Celebration 2025

The City of White Salmon will celebrate Arbor Day in March 2025 in partnership with Underwood Conservation District's Tree Fest.

Trees are valuable community assets when properly planted and cared for. They enhance neighborhood beauty, boost property values, lower cooling costs, improve air quality, and provide essential wildlife habitat, among many other benefits.

In honor of Arbor Day 2025, we encourage everyone to plant or care for a tree on their property and take time to appreciate the wonderful trees that enrich our community. This year, we proudly celebrate our 8th year as a Tree City USA and the 153rd anniversary of Arbor Day!
