City Welcomes Jennifer Neil as Director of Finance and Operations

WHITE SALMON, WA – The City of White Salmon is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Neil as its new Director of Finance and Operations. Neil brings over 24 years of financial and operations management experience, including seven years in public finance, making her an exceptional addition to the City’s leadership team.

In her previous role as Fiscal Manager for Klickitat County, Neil oversaw an annual budget ranging from $60 to $90 million, providing strategic financial counsel to the Board of County Commissioners and collaborating with multiple elected officials and department directors. Her leadership contributed to an 87-day increase in general fund cash on hand and a $5.3 million boost to reserves, underscoring her expertise in fiscal stewardship and financial planning.

"Jennifer's proven ability to not only lead projects but also navigate difficult financial discussions in a way that informs without creating division are impressive strengths,” said Mayor Marla Keethler. "We are thrilled to welcome her to our team and look forward to her leadership in strengthening the City's financial and operational foundation."

This is a new position for the city, as it builds a structure that no longer combines the role of Clerk and Treasurer. As Director of Finance and Operations, Neil will be responsible for overseeing the City’s budgeting, financial reporting, grant management, long-term financial planning, and operational processes. She will play a key role in ensuring fiscal sustainability and supporting the City's continued development.

“I am honored to join the City of White Salmon and contribute to its vision of financial integrity and operational excellence,” said Neil. “I look forward to working with city officials, staff, and the community to strengthen transparency, efficiency, and long-term fiscal health.”
